Aalok Sahai, MD, is a board-certified surgeon who has been serving the communities of Chandler and Phoenix, Arizona, since 2007. At Sonoran Surgical, Dr. Sahai offers comprehensive and compassionate medical and surgical care to patients dealing with colorectal issues ranging from irritable bowel syndrome to colorectal cancer.
Dr. Sahai was born and raised in Iowa. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Sahai completed his general surgery training at Washington University/Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He chose to specialize in colorectal surgery and underwent additional specialized surgical training at Western Pennsylvania/Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He then moved to Phoenix.
Dr. Sahai is currently board certified in general surgery and colorectal surgery. He has a particular interest in minimally invasive (laparoscopic/robotic) colorectal surgery using the advanced robotic da Vinci® Surgical System. Minimally invasive and robotic surgical procedures provide improved patient outcomes, including more rapid recovery and a reduced risk of scarring and infection.
